If someone has high levels of sugar in their body and they don't fix it they can get complications which include "diseases of the eyes, kidneys, blood vessels, and nerves"(Goodheart 10).
In the ancient times people with diabetes were described as "passing too much urine" (Goodheart 11).
Claude Bernard was the first man to discover that "sugar can be stored in the liver in a form called glycogen"(Goodheart 13).
Whenever you are in between meals your "blood sugar levels drop and the pancreas secretes less insulin"(Goodheart 27).

Glucose is very important to the body because you body is able to use it in "three different ways"(Goodheart 27).

This book focuses on how diabetes came to be founded. The author feels that if people understand diabetes then they will be able to get a better understanding of how people with diabetes deal with it. The author is a credible source because she is a scientic. I would use this source in my papaer when talking about the history about Diabetes.
